What was discussed at the council meeting of January 24th?
On January 24th, the 5th council meeting took place. In this brief report, we will briefly touch upon the most important points.
The FR website (as you can see) is almost complete! The council has agreed to write regular pieces about meetings and other important events that take place within the Faculty. So, keep an eye on the website!
Further, an update was given on the opening hours of various buildings. Student associations had indicated last year that they were disappointed that the new (early) closing times meant they could no longer organize activities in the Langeveld or Sjoerd Groenman building in the evenings. Therefore, a pilot was carried out with these buildings being open late once a week on Thursday evenings. However, it was found that the buildings were poorly attended on those evenings. It is now being investigated why this is the case.
The “internal quality assurance guide” was also discussed with the Faculty Council. This is a guide that describes how the social sciences faculty ensures the quality of education. The council members asked some questions and made proposals for changes that have been adopted.
Finally, the evaluation of the “Wayfinding app” was discussed, the app that can guide visitors in the Langeveld building. The evaluation showed that the app was not of added value and will therefore no longer be used.
