Start of the year

Dear reader,

Over the past month, the student delegation of the Faculty Council has had the opportunity to experience a lot of new things. The first meeting with the seven of us, setting the first agenda for the Faculty Council, the first consultation with the staff delegation, the first meetings with the other Inspraak! organs at the program meetings and, of course, the first Faculty Council meeting.

We officially started at the introduction day on September 8, where we got to know each other together with the staff and the Faculty Board by guessing which items belonged to which person while enjoying a delicious lunch. We also had an informative presentation from the director Frank Jan about the faculty distribution model and from the assessor Nienke about her annual themes.

On September 12 it was then time for the first Faculty Council meeting of the year. We were able to discuss topics such as the selection procedure for Psychology, the outcome of the PhD survey and the future of elecitves at the academic masters. We all enjoyed this first cycle immensely and now that we have a taste for it, we are greatly looking forward to the rest of the coming year!

We have also been thinking about the themes we want to focus on this year. We are going to present our draft plans for the annual themes at the second Faculty Council meeting on October 10th (Martinus J. Langeveld Building E3.14, you can always attend one of our FC meetings!), so you can read all about that in the next blog!
