Sloop noordvleugel Sjoerd Groenmangebouw

Misschien heb je het al gehoord, misschien nog niet: aankomende zomer wordt de noordvleugel van het 𝗦𝗷𝗼𝗲𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘄 (SGG) gesloopt. Wat is daar de reden voor? Wat betekent dit voor studenten? En wat doet de S-geleding hiermee?

De noordvleugel van het SGG is verbonden met het Bloembergengebouw. De universiteit heeft besloten dat sloop nodig is, omdat het ontzettend veel energie zou besparen als deze twee gebouwen niet langer aan elkaar vastzitten.

Voor studenten heeft dit een grote impact. 𝗡𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝘇𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘇𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘄 𝗴𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗷𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗶𝗺𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗯𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝘇𝗶𝗷𝗻. Dat betekent minder ruimte om te studeren en onderwijs te volgen op deze locatie.

De S-geleding van de faculteitsraad zet zich er op dit moment voor in dat binnen dit proces het studentperspectief serieus wordt meegenomen. Daarbij letten we er ook op dat de wensen en behoeften van studieverenigingen niet worden vergeten.

𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗚𝗚 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴
Maybe you’ve already heard, maybe you haven’t: this summer, the north wing of the Sjoerd Groenmangebouw (SGG) will be demolished. Why is this happening? What does this mean for students? And what is the student delegation (S-geleding) doing about it?

The north wing of the SGG is connected to the Bloembergen building. The university has decided to proceed with demolition because it would save a significant amount of energy if the two buildings were no longer physically connected.

This has a major impact on students. After the summer, there will no longer be any study spaces or teaching rooms available in the building. This means less space to study and attend classes at this location.

The student delegation of the Faculty Council (S-geleding) is currently working to ensure that the student perspective is properly taken into account in this process. We are also making sure that the needs and wishes of study associations are not overlooked.
